Hanalei Bay is ranked as the best beach in America by Stephen P. Leatherman, director of Florida International University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research, also known as Dr. Beach. He has compiled the list annually since 1991 using 50 criteria, including water quality and temperature, cleanliness, weather, sand, safety and facilities.
Well, what else can I say? Hanalei Bay has a lot to offer; spectacular views, great surf and lots of room. Surfers of all abilities can catch some righteous waves in this crescent shaped beach. It also features lifeguards, showers and restrooms. I rank this beach #1 in the world.
